PAYMENT RECONCILIATION, RECONSIDERED
Make sense of
every payment.
Keep the details.
Put payments and your ledger side by side. Match what agrees. Understand what doesn’t. Keep every exception visible.
A working browser demo, built by an independent founder.
SYNTHETIC CSV WORKSPACE
Reconciliation overview
USD 320.00 in payments. USD 317.50 in ledger.
Kept for review, not quietly forced to match.
Illustrative preview · not connected to any bank or accounting system
01 / THE WORKFLOW
From two files
to a clearer picture.
Not every difference is a mistake. Start with a dependable rule, then give the uncertain records the attention they deserve.
YOUR SOURCE FILES. ONE SHARED VIEW.
- 01
Bring both sides of the story.
Load a payments CSV and a ledger CSV with the same simple schema. Or explore the clearly labeled sample files.
- 02
Match the certain. Keep the uncertain.
A unique reference, exact amount and identical currency make a pair. Duplicates, missing entries and differences stay in review.
- 03
See the reason. Take the report.
Inspect both records, filter exceptions and export a CSV report. You decide what happens next in your own books.
02 / A SMALL TOOL, WITH CLEAR BOUNDARIES
Useful today.
Thoughtful about tomorrow.
PayTool is a founder-led MVP, not a finished enterprise platform. Here’s what you can actually try, and what is still being built.
Clarity you can inspect.
One-to-one, not “close enough”
Exact decimal arithmetic. No fee adjustments, fuzzy matches or currency conversion hidden in a result.
Exceptions with an explanation
Search and filter records. Open the details to see the rule and the possible counterpart.
Your files, your browser
CSV contents are processed locally in memory. No upload, account or third-party JavaScript.
A second layer
for harder questions.
We’re exploring Claude-assisted explanations for ambiguous matches, with structured evidence and human review.
- Claude tool-use for exception explanations
- Read-only data connectors
- Persistent workspaces and review history
Not available in this demo. No launch date promised.

Rules first.
Reasoning second.
People in control.
The current engine is deterministic JavaScript. It compares exact values and returns a reason for every result. Nothing is sent to an AI model.
Read the approachValidate & normalize CSVs
Schema, dates, currencies, exact decimal values.
Match or keep for review
Unique reference + amount + currency. No forced assignment.
Explain ambiguous evidence
Planned bounded tools for reading candidate records and proposing an explanation, never moving money.
Review before acting
A report supports your decisions. It does not update your ledger.
A FEW PRACTICAL QUESTIONS
Know what
you’re trying.
Is this an AI-powered demo?
No. This demo uses deterministic JavaScript rules, not Claude or another model. Claude integration is planned and in development for future exception explanations.
Do my CSV files leave my browser?
No. File contents stay in browser memory and are not uploaded. Resetting clears the current workspace data. The site itself is hosted on Cloudflare; see our privacy notice.
What counts as a match?
A reference must appear once in each file, with exactly equal amounts and the same currency. References are case-sensitive after trimming surrounding whitespace. Dates are validated but not used as match keys.
Can PayTool connect to a bank or move money?
No. The current demo reads two local CSVs and exports a report. It has no bank connections, live accounting integrations, API calls or money movement.
How can I give feedback or ask about early access?
Email founder@paytool.space. This starts a conversation with the founder, not an automatic signup or a guaranteed invitation.

Bring a little order
to the ledger.
Try the sample workspace. Then bring your own two CSVs.
